HERE IS MY THEME ACCORDING TO BLOOM’S TAXONOMY

                                                      LET’S CELEBRATE

Describing holidays, festivals, customs and special events ( using relatives clauses  of time ; adverbial clauses of time : before , when, after….. intermediate)

1.- knowledge:students will define the most famous holidays and festivals in their country and make a list of the activities they do on those days as well as the food and drink customs.

Example: june is a month when many Young people like to get married.

2.- comprhension: in a Word map describe the special occasion, food and drinks, the activities, and things we give or receive. And translate into english the typical unusual words in famous holidays or festivals.

3.- application: make a group survey  about someone favorite holiday or festival.

4.- analysis: compare and contrast customs of some of the most famous holiday or festivals and analyze the history or myth about  their origin.

5.- Synthesis : student will write a short paragraph about their personal experience they had taken part in a holiday or festival.

6.- evaluation: lead a panel discussion on the value of having every  country their own holidays and festivals; explaining advantages ,disadvantages and decide which holiday would every student like to take part in and why.

THE BLOOM’S TAXONOMY

The bloom’s taxonomy consist on the classification of the learning objectives or skills that a learner shall acquire and  within the cognitive domain according to the bloom’s taxonomy there are six skills  which are:

LEVEL I: KNOWLEDGE

Exhibits memory of previously learned material by recalling fundamental facts, terms, basic concepts and answers about the selection.

LEVEL II: COMPREHENSION

Demonstrate understanding of facts and ideas by organizing, comparing, translating,interpreting, giving descriptors and stating main ideas.

LEVEL III: APPLICATION

Solve problems in nw situations by applying acquired knowledge, facts,techniques and rules in a different, or new way.

LEVEL IV: ANALYSIS

Examine and break information into parts by identifying motives or causes. Make inferences and find evidence to support generalizations.

LEVEL V: SYNTHESIS

Complete  information together in a different way by combining elements in a new pattern or proposing alternative solutions.

LEVEL VI: present and defend opinions by making judgments about information, validity of ideas or quality of work based on a set of criteria.

As a teachers I  think the  bloom’s taxonomy is  a good skills that help us to make our lesson plan,  developing the students’ cognitive knowledge. The point is to get learners more involved  by thinking producing, creating according to  the hots and lots.

Learning styles and multiple intelligences  are important when  we teach because teachers shall be focus on the students´ personality due to everyone have a different interests, needs, lifestyle so everybody have different way of acquire knowledge therefore we have to teach them according to their learning style.

working on the four language skills

The grammar is so important, because when you talk about grammar you are referring to words of group of words that follow rules and grammatical structures which make sentences or series of sentences that link together help us to communicate. grammar is very important when you are learning or teaching a language but just learning grammatical rules, terms and structures doesn´t teachlearners how to communicate, which is the main purpose of language. so much language teaching nowadays also focuses on functions, language skills , fluency and communication.
we need to develop the four language skills therefore we have to work on them.the four language skills are reading, writing,listen and speaking if you are weak on one of these you would have a poor communication.
example: if you have problems with the listening, you won´t understand what people is trying to communicate you, so your communication would be limited only by the things you had understood.

reading and writing are skills that help us to build up our vocabulary, express ideas know other people ideas or feelings but     I´m focus on listening and speaking because I have problems with my listening  so I going to start working on it.
